They may play rivals on Y&R, but in real life Peter Bergman, Jeanne Cooper and Christian LeBlanc are anything but! At a recent photo shoot for the cover of Soaps in Depth magazine, these three hams clowned around for the camera, having a great time in the process.

I think "Jack" is one handsome man.......How tall is Jack? and what woman sports does he like?

That was so much fun to watch! I hope more of these behind-the-scenes photo shoots are posted in the future. I'd especially like to see some with Joshua Morrow, Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford!

You should really be portraying black women better than you are portraying Dru right now. She is much to sophisticated to be pulling someone's hair. It seems that you are giving the high road to Carmen. Carmen is the late comer to the show and frankly it was better when she was there. Dru is the Black star and you are trashing her class. Write better scrips, this is insulting to black professinal women. Come on, we don't jump women in the break room and pull their hair, THIS IS 2006 you know.

that was a great picture of christian, jeanne and peter i bought that issue. i was surprised they left judith chapman out of the picture shoot. judith is just great as gloria!! gloria does get on my nerves a at times but i hope judith stays on the show for a long time. greg rikaaart is another phenominal actor. he needs a better storyline something besides helping his mom. i like sharon case, jess walton she deserves a good storyline as well and jeanne too.i'm sorry davatta sherwood was let go i think she was the better lilly.

Pleaseeeeeeeeee! We need soaps to have more stable black family characters for our younger generations who do look at Y&R. The title "THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS", we do stupid things while we're young, and it's a hard transition growing from teenager to adulthood. Making adult decsion.

Okay I've been look at Y&R since the 70's. Lauren started on you know (the other network soap, that's sweeping the Emmys, and the Jack on the other network soap, he was good then and is excellent now.

Y&R is showing that the Winters family has have it's up and down's, I hope the writer would bring Olivia lettting Neil know the truth that Dru was raped! It's devasating to hear about a family member taking advantage of another member, be it young or old, female or male. Dru then and now is truly in love with Neil. She overcame obstacles, that would make anyone jump off the bridge. Dru didn' quit, and became a success, it was hard but she didn't quit! Let them overcome Devone’s illness and be a loving family. I happy to see the writers is devoting more television time and scripts towards the Winter's,letting both their kids know that life is nothing but ups and downs. Neil has had his ups and downs, Y&R showed the viewers that they were not QUITTERS and will overcome Neils miid-life crsises. YES MEN GO THRU MENAPAUSE AS DO US FEMALES!

HAPPY VERY LATE BIRTHDAY MR.SEXY

Posted by: WINNETTE at October 10, 2006 11:47 AM

I'm concerned about Thad Luckinbill's (J.T.)
status with the show. In August he appeared in
only 10 of 23 episodes and in half of them he
hardly had any dialougue. In September he was in
a measly 6 of 19 episodes and so far he's been in
none of the 8 episodes this month. As a result my
interest in the show is waning because I'm tired
of other characters being on daily while my
favorite goes weeks without making an appearance.
J.T. is a great character and Thad is an
outstanding actor. It's a shame he's not being
used more.

Y&R used to be unique because the writers were
able to juggle multiple stories and involve
almost all the characters on the canvas. This
is no longer the case. Now the focus in on 2 or 3
stories and a only a handful of characters.

In general the new writers don't seem invested
in any of the characters under the age of 30. I
hope the situation changes shortly because after
being a fan for over 25 years, I've never been
this disenchanted with the show.

I really like the addition of Zapada...he's so adorable! But I *do* think that there's a full moon over the CBS studio! Jack needs to be brought down a peg...and at least be half the man his father was. Victor and Nikki are the stability of the show...their characters are what keeps the show romantic. The Winters need to be a stable family also. The actions of the Dru character are a bit too juvenile, and she's always too over-the-edge. She needs a better plot.
Better lines. The chemistry between Phyllis and Nicholas is absolutely wonderful!

I don't know how you manage it but Y&R consistently contracts the best actors of any soap. The newest group: Michael, Kevin, Devon, Lily, Danny, and Noah are so wonderful at their roles that I can almost get lost in the plot. Thanks for keeping it "real." Mr. Bell would be proud.

I agree with “Posters” Katherine Simon and Bev Spooner. Why did the writers feel compelled to change Drusilla’s character? She is now being portrayed as the “angry black woman” whereas previously her persona was one of a business and family-oriented woman. Engaging in physical altercations at the work place, in addition to all of the other psychotic episodes, is totally out of character. Unless I miscounted, there are four African American actors/actresses on the Young & the Restless. This number comprises the Winter’s Family. Is there a reason why so few numbers? Is it a lack of talent or disinterest on both parties?

I too have been a long time viewer of the Young & the Restless. Unfortunately, I find the story lines to be lackluster and brainless. Having never written a play or movie, I can only imagine the work involved and the tireless hours, but please seek in the near future to reinstate some realty in daytime drama. In addition, please do not bring back Sheila’s character. Who, in their right mind, undergoes plastic surgery for the sole purpose of tormenting others? In my opinion, when writers continually return meaningless characters, this is defined as a “creative writing block”.

Posted by: Veronica at October 11, 2006 10:30 AM

I’m pleased that Y&R is NOT, “juggling multiple stories and involving almost all the characters on the canvas.” This would take 2 weeks for one day’s episode, remember! I’m happy that the writers is concentrating on “Now the focus in on 2 or 3 stories and a only a handful of characters”
People; let’s and move on. The writers are good but needs improvements in delicate situations, It's a soap opera. The writers need to listen to what the majority of viewers has to say and want. Today’s world the younger generation are our future. What is seen and viewed both on Television and the big screen is mimic by our kid; and think it’s okay (oh my gosh am I’m getting old!). Lets see that being devious and using malicious trickery to get ahead is not the right way of life, but hard work and education. The consciences when caught will be severely dwelt with. I know the writer’s have all of us analyzing, and guessing what’s next.
I love all the characters and they all should received Emmys. Y&R touched on Victor’s and Devone’s illness. Both is becoming widespread.

hello, my name is joe. iam 21 years old. i've been a huge fan of y&r since 1987. that means i've been watching 19 years. I enjoy watching the show, but i have to say that iam not enojoying it these last few months. I am not pleased with the fact that different members of the crew are leaving or being fired. Another disappointment is the departure of Jack Smith. I think it is torture to the fans of y&r. Jack , i believe has been the backbone to the show especially with his storyline writing capabilities enriched in the the history of the show. I along with others from around the world are not taking a liking to Lynn Marie Latham. I believe she needs to bring back Jack Smith. I think the Bell Family who own the rights to y&r should have the final say on who comes and goes. I believe if Lynn is taking the show in a new direction, the way she has been taking it the last few months, (i.e faster storylines,firings,etc...) the show's ratings will drop, and the show will lose it's fans. i will continue to watch the show but iam just stating what i think. but i do give kudos to LML on the medical storylines, because they're realistic. but i think back in dec '05/jan'06 when the has CBS soaps in depth and soap weekly/digest magazines come out, most of them were on previews for 2006. i think with the way things have been, it should have said "2006:The downfall of The Young and the Restless" no offense or anything. but i believe if you want a show to be great, it has to have history.right now, as far as iam concerned, history has changed.

This is really sad...If I were a Y&R producer I would be worried, if a were a competitor I would be rejoicing but I am only a long time fan (22 years) and keep hoping week after week that SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will do SOMETHING to save this wonderful show and all that it stands for. We can tell there is a lot of turmoil going on, let`s hope the good guys win and that Bill Bell`s legacy does not end up at the bottom of the ratings!

Why isn't more being said about Gloria and the poisoning? And..... Nick and Phyllis make a stupid couple.

Posted by: Betts at October 13, 2006 9:48 AM

This is just an old soap opera viewer's observation: BUT, does anyone, except me, remember that Jana knew a lot about " Art & Stuff " when Victoria was in Crimson Lights coffee shop a few months ago, and was talking to her about Italy and great works of art ? And, now, Jana is touring the Chancellor Mansion with Billy. U'mmmmmmm .... My guess is that Miss Jana is up to no good, and will end up with knowing a lot more about Brad's ( George Kaplan ) past, in the up-coming storylines. And, may even be a young family member of the Bad Guy(s) ( Nazis ) who Brad killed in the church. So, don't just look at the obvious, Prof. Korbel, with his sexy eyes, to turn out to be the " villian " in " the dark shadows of the art world ". U'mmm, oh well, it may be, just, part of have my vivid imagination, but stranger & wilder things have happened on Y&R over the last 33 years.

Hi , its joe again. I know this idea maybe crazy, but i think us the "fans" who've been watching for years, should have an input for storylines. I know and I've heard alot of great ideas not only from my fellow canadians but also my friends from the US.

I think if only the "Lynn Marie Latham regime" would listen to us, the storylines would be great and spectacular. I know that we would get quite a few emmys. so if anyone from the show reads this, think about it, and if you dont like the way things have been, do something about it. lets make y&r the way it use to be, and that is "The Young and the Restless". the time is now, a time to hope, and time to survive. so lets stand up, and help Y&R survive.

Love the videos! Now...the comments from posters being suspicious of Prof. Korbel makes me ask the question, what about Jana?? She asked questions and made comments from the very beginning about art, Victoria Newman etc. etc. Are Prof. Korbel and Jana a "team"? Just who is SHE, really?? Hmmmm....this could get interesting...

Please oh Please don't let something happen to Lauren's and Michael's baby and do NOT take Lauren off the show! They are such a great couple and there have never been two people more deserving of a child on there than them two.
Ok on to other matters Phyllis and Nick light up the screen you could have them on there alot more and I would never get tired of them. They are a great couple its unreal the chemistry you can see going on between these two on screen! and Nick uhhhhh wow that man is the sexiest!

H'mmmmmm ??? ... and, " the plot thickens " !

And, the videos were really cool !

I loved the storyline of Nick and Phyllis, I think Michelle Stafford is just the best actress! But I liked Phyllis with Jack too! The best thing that the writers have done was to make Sharon & Nick separate. I do wish Jack would not try to be a vindictive person where Gloria is concerned though. John was without a woman for many years after he & Jill split up.He could've been paired with Gina though, they made a cute pair. I also love Peter Bergman's hair, he looks younger than he did on AMC. And stop making Dru so bitchy & mean, she isn't usually written to be a spiteful woman! It's insulting to her portrayer, Victoria Rowell!

Posted by: Shannon at October 18, 2006 7:09 PM

Looks like you guys had a blast!

Let me say that I hope you (TPTB) reconsider, and recast Billy Abbott (either someone new or David Tom). Just because Scott Seymour didn't work out doesn't mean you should give up on the character altogether! With so many family members on the show, Billy needs to stay on the canvas. Please don't turn him into another Tracy! (rarely seen, never talked about).

hello y&r writers and fans!

first of all good job in all the years of writing for y&r. right now i'd have to say my favorite storyline is michael and lauren's baby.call me crazy but i just love watching michael fall apart like that! it really touched me when lauren is sleeping and he touches her belly and says i'm sorry to the baby. i'm really enjoying the storyline for jack cause i have the feelin' that jack is going to get what he deserves. i'am however no longer intrested in the brad and his mother storyline. to me its a repeat of another episode from way back in the past. for those who have truly kept up, the brad storyline is alot like bobby marsino's storyline which is why i'm showing no interest in the brad and his mother's storyline. how you ask? well victoria's car was broken into whereas on the bobby storyline brittany is hurt from the wired pole. don't get me wrong the brad storyline IS interesting i'm just seeing a repeat. i never get bored with sheila so i'm really lookin' foreward to shelia being back in lauren adn michael's life. however, i'd like to point one thing out to the writers, what happend with jill and katherine? they are my two all time favorites on the show! i think they need juicier storylines. i think jill and katherine need to start their feud up again. i don't like it when they get along...at all. although in my opinion fans.. i think billy is bad news. maybe just maybe the writers have come to their senses and have decided to bring jill and katherine back like it should be. now let's talk about paul. paul is my second favorite guy on the show. paul's storyline NEVER changes! its either sheilia or snooping for victor. paul needs someone in his life that's gonna bring trouble. well folks, i can really go on and on bout the changes that need to be made on my favorite soap opera but i must go. i'm interested in your comments so comment away HA!

y&r forever!

yours truly,

hayley b.

I am really sick of Carmen. She came on the show so bold and bad and now that Neal is not infatuated with her anymore she's become a big cry baby. She can't have him so she needs to get over it. Please write into the script that an investigation of her past reveals that her track record is going after men she can't have and causing trouble when she can't get her way. If Dru is going to go to jail she needs to be allowed to whip her butt. Futhermore Neal needs to be letting her know that he is not interested in loose women. Sharon needs to look out because she will be back on Jack soon.

Posted by: AMDA at October 20, 2006 1:37 PM

I am so sad to see that Carmen is treated so badly. I think she is the prettiest woman to come along in quiet a while . I hope she going to play a more important role in the future .

Posted by: Michael at October 20, 2006 1:42 PM

I am extremely concerned about the current direction of the show. It seems that many of the characters are unrecognizable due to the current writing of the show. It is apparent to me that Ms. Latham has an extremely difficult time writing for intelligent and sophisticated woman. Since she has become the Executive Producer and Head Writer, the quality of the show has been on a downward spiral. Many of the female characters are being written as one dimensional and lack the depth that was present under the writing of John Smith and Kay Ahlden.
While many seem to give Latham accolades for the slight increase in ratings, I guarantee that it is only a matter of time before the show begins to see a major decline in ratings. While many of the stories are faster paced, I really do not think that the audience appreciates such a major deviation from the style and format used by the brilliant Bill Bell, John F. Smith, and Kay Ahlden.
I guarantee that CBS will be begging John F. Smith to return within the next year, because the current writing on the shows lacks the inteeligence and sophistication that has been the trademark for the Young and the Restless since the show began.

Posted by: Daniel Williams at October 22, 2006 5:22 PM

I am a little disconcerted about some of the current stories that are on The Young and The Restless. First, I have no idea why some of the fan favorites have been killed off in order to introduce all of these new characters who are seen sporadically. For example, what is the deal with Will Bardwell? Honestly, I think that he and Ashley are blaxing hot together. Both are intelligent amd ooze sex appeal whenver they are on the screen. However, the writers have him paired potenially paired with Gloria or Jill. If you were Will, you would not overlook the sexy Ashley Abbot for either of those two! I am hoping that Mr. Kim pursues Ashley. He was checking her out on the 10/19/06 episode, and he is another extremely handsome man who could find happiness in the arms of that beautifful bombshell. I hope that the sow does not use him in the same capacity that they have Will Bardwell.
If the witers and producers really want us to invest in these new chracters, we need to see them more than once every two weeks.

Posted by: Will Richards at October 22, 2006 5:31 PM

I am seriously hoping that the writers decide to move forward with an Ashley/Will/Jill triangle. While it seems like the writers are intent on throwing Gloria into the mix, I think that Ashley is a far better math for Will's affections. It has been a while since the beautiful Ashley has had some romance in her life, and I think that either Will Bardwell or Mr. Kim could be the right guy. However, Will's behavior towards the lovely Ashley during the NVP launch was a little perturbing and off putting. However, I am willing to give him another chance.
I think that Ted Shackelford and Eileen Davidson have undeniable chemistry, and I hope that the writers do not squander this romantic pairing. Both of these individulas have audience support, and Ms. Latham needs to give them a story that is worthy of thier talent!

Posted by: Whitney Johnson at October 22, 2006 5:39 PM

I think that The Young and the Restless has the best cast on daytime television. While it is extremely unfortunate that there seems to be major changes occuring at the writing and production levels, this ast continues to provide superb performances day after day. I love, love, love the characters of Jack, Ashley, Phyllis, Dru, Neil, Nick, Sharon, Michael, Jill, Katherine, and Kevin just to name of few. All of these characters are portrayed by actors who truly care about the daytime genre and are adamant about provide consistent quality performances for the aduience in spite of the mediocre writing that exists at the current time.
Actors, please keeps your heades up and weather the storm. Things can only get hetter!

I don't understand why you have to bring Shelia back in the show, send her back to B&B.
Why can't Michel and Lauren be happy, they desrve some happiness.I love to see Nick & Phyllis, they are a beautiful couple. And when are you going to get Victor back to his old self, so he can bring Jack down to where he need to be.
Y/R gets better everyday, just sometimes it takes to long to finish something.Devon is a great actor, remeber him playing little Richie from Family Matters. Pleas correct me if I am wrong........ Bless you Guys.

HELLO?>?>?>?>!! Nick and Phyllis DO NOT belong together! I want to see Nick back where he belongs, with Sharon, and their marriage back on its romantic track. And please pleeeeeeze stop with Dru doing the trashy mad woman thing with her do-rags and hip hop look, speaking in double negatives, and all that. She's supposed to be a mom and wife and business executive. Nevermind...if that whole family left the show it wouldn't bother me one bit. BORING!
And please don't bring Sheila back from the dead AGAIN. That's been done to death, let's move on. A more grown up, stable, romantic story line would be appreciated.
Thank you!

MANY RANDOM THOUGHTS:

1. Nick and Phyllis do NOT work. ZERO chemistry.

2. I LOVE the art angle with Jana and the Professor being a team. DUH! Who doesn't see this one coming?

3. Yes, Ms. Latham, bring Larry back, and along with him how about Damon? And I've been waiting for YEARS for Rex's "twin brother." I know it's soap cliche, but Quinn Redeker was ONE GREAT ACTOR!

4. It must be nice that Ms. Khalil has the soap by the you know whats, that she can dictate that SHE wants to come back and not the other way around. The viewers do NOT! How anyone can prefer her whining approach to Lily instead of Ms. Sherwood, who has actually DONE SOMETHING with the character, is beyond me. Ms. Khalil chose to leave. I say, the door only swings one way... OUT!

5. Great to see Katherine working in the office. And it only took 34 years!

6. This Sheila stuff is so old and preposterous. Give us all a break.

7. Keep Mr. Kim. He is a great actor. Him and Ashley would create some heat!

Posted by: Joe at October 25, 2006 9:00 AM

I have been watching Y&R for as long as I can remember, and I have never been dissappointed in the shows direction... until now. The young people in the show (Kevin, JT, Colleen, Lilly, Danielle, Devon, Sierra etc) need more air time. I have to admit that I love Phylis and Nick together, but I can't see quite where the whole storyline is headed... IS THE REAL PHYLIS DEAD? Did Sheila take her place? And who are they KILLING OFF? Anyone know...?

Posted by: Vicky at October 25, 2006 11:52 AM

re; random thoughts by Joe
Interesting that you would refer to two people by their real names in your "random thoughts"
Ms Latham, and Ms. Khalil! why so negative. where were your thoughts before this? Is this sympathy, or do you truly want us to believe this is only about the actress/writer, and not the STORYLINE?
Ms Khalil was/is a child, as opposed to Ms Latham, and Ms Sherwood.

Posted by: fairlady at October 25, 2006 3:08 PM

Ms. Khalil and Ms. Sherwood are roughly the same age. And I'll say it again - Ms. Sherwood has been (hands down) a much better "Lily" than Ms. Khalil.

I have not been on the site for quite some time. I noticed many posters putting in their two cents to Ms. Latham regarding the show's direction, so I thought I would chime in.

That, and the fact that I was/am a HUGE Quinn Redeker fan (another real person you forgot to mention). I miss Rex (and Jeanne Cooper has said the same in interviews a few years ago).

Upon going on line to learn who sang during the Thanksgiving scenes at the end, I discovered this 'Post a Comment' and just had to extend Kudo's.
The exquisite delivery of vocalist Stacey Kent with only piano accompaniment during the warm & loving Thanksgiving holiday scenes was a unique surprise and a delight to hear.
I was so impressed that I called my honey, a jazz player, who worked all the major Las Vegas Strip Hotel Shows, and said "You've got to hear this", as he always said, "If you can't sing with just a piano, you can't sing".
I played my recorded Y&R tape of Stacey Kent singing "What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love", for him over the phone & he gave her kudos as well - phrasing, pitch, purity, etc.
Thanks Y&R for the Tasty, Musical "JAZZ" Treat!
Y&R is always a step above from the sets and SENSATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY to the Actors who breathe life adding a 3rd dimension into the meaningful storylines.

I never liked Gloria and I hate that the story line has made a victim out of her. Shame on Jack and Ashly. Come on, Gloria should have received her share of the estate yet been put away for her criminal actions. What is this poor Gloria thing. It is very anoying. How can Lauren stand her and as soon as anyone says anything she is pouting and crying for herself. She is the most manipulative person I have ever seen in my life.
I love the show and it has been so moving to see plans of adoption for Divon. Thank you for a great show.

I don't think Nick and Phyllis work at all. I would LOVE to see Nick and Sharon get an unexpected "spark" again, and get back together somehow. The original Lilly is back and horrible. I thought the second Lilly that you all just recently replaced with the original was a much better actress, no to mention resembled Dru and Neil more. The origianl Lilly is too light skinned, with no resemblance at all. The 2nd Lilly was beautiful too! Please, I like the Brad storyline, let's just hurry it up already! Judith Chapman is a good Gloria, (actress wise) i think she portrays that caharater well. Now, I used to really like Ashley's character all these years, but now she is rubbing me the wrong way. Jack is still being Jack, and I like that. Glad yo uall are brining the old Victor back. Oh, and THANK YOU for getting rid of the actor that played Billy. I am an actress myself, and that boy could NOT act!!!! Was he a family memebr or friend of the Bell family? is that why he got the part? Pleasae give Sharon another stroy line as well. I am sorry, I will say it again, Nick and Phyllis do not work.

I think Phylis is one of the best actresses on the show. Right up there with Victor and Nicki. I think her and Nick make a cute couple. I was surprised by Nick chosing her but Sharon has cheated too many times. I am concerned about the ads saying Phylis dies. Something to do with Sheila I suppose? The show wouldn't be the same without Michelle Stafford. I like the second lily better than the old one. Why did they bring her back?

I have read the previous comments and hear are my thoughts. I too, don't care to see Nick & Phyllis together. Not only do they look weird, but they are always all over each other (in elevators, the office) just anywhere and anytime they get the urge to drop and roll (if you know what I mean). I think Nick & Sharon belong together just like Victor & Nikki, Jack & Phyllis. I also like Michael and Lauren, they are so precious together. I'm glad you brought back this Lilly. The break up between J.T. and Colleen was long over due. I think Mac & Billy should come back. Not the last one's but the two that almost got married until they found out they are cousins. Why in the world did you guys write in your script this Phyllis double? Sheila may have been able to get her face done to look similar to Phyllis, but the voice and body shape, come on, even a blind person can see through that. David Chow and this Victoria should go back to AMC. He's not a good fit for Y & R, sorry. I'm glad Carmen is gone and I'll be glad when the "who did it" phrase is over. It's time to move on. Will is too slow for Jill, she need a Larry Wharton.
