Dear Fans,

We have a show coming your way with some great music.

On Tuesday, August 8, there will be two music montages in one show!

The first one is Alicia Keys’ "If I Aint Got You." You gotta love Alicia, and the song requires no explanation. It's pure and perfect.

The second one is a very popular singer/songwriter from Ireland named Nick Kelly. He has an album released in online form by BOS Music called "Running Dog.” The title of the song is "The Mystery of Love" and it plays throughout various scenes, intertwining various moments and moods of our special characters. The song is poetic, intelligent and melodic, and for me, a nice way to introduce the great talents of Nick Kelly.

I hope you like it too.

Here is a link to his website:

Thanks for being such great fans.

Well, I pretty much prefer YOUR OWN music, really.

They are so good, and in the past they used to be even better. When are you gonna release them on CD?

Posted by: Antonio at August 7, 2006 11:39 AM

Hey! Which characters are the montages going to be played for? When are we going to hear Thad/J.T. sing again? I miss hearing him so much!

God bless you and him always!!!

No offence to the new artists but honestly, YR has some great classics music in the vaults that we'd like to hear every now and again too. It brings more to the scenes with vets in a nostalgic way for long time viewers.

Just came across this site and wanted to say I just love all the pictures. Great job on the site and I'll be visiting it often :)

Can you please tell me the name of artist and
song playing at the end of the 6/29 episode.
Nick & Phyllis are at the roadhouse, it is a
great song and I love the artist. I've searced
everywhere with the lyrics that I could hear and
haven't been able to identify the song.
Thanks

The Alicia Keys piece fit perfectly and brought tears to my eyes! (I am really rooting for Lily and Daniel!) I am a fan of many, many years (in fact my own children are named Nicholas and Victoria). I can't go a day without watching- it's what I look forward to at the end of a long day teaching, and I'm always really bummed if I forget to set the VCR.

Love this site! Love all of you at Y&R!

Posted by: valerie at August 9, 2006 12:43 PM

I loved the music in conjunction with the montage of Lily and Danial, Dru and Neil, who are all at odds with eachother. Perfect. Thankyou

Posted by: Soapgranny at August 9, 2006 3:49 PM

I absolutely loved that flashback scene with daniel and lily on yesterday's show. Alicia K. added the perfect blend to the moment with her song. You really can't go wrong with Alicia. It was better that the other montage at the end with the guy singing. Anyway great music choice with Alicia and tell the writers to keep daniel and lily together, they are so cute. thanks Y&R, u are the best in daytime.

I've been watching Y&R for over 20 years. I feel like I know the characters "from my old neighborhood".
* I hope Sharon and Nick stay together
* I hope Victor goes back to being "the mustache!!!

Posted by: Janis at August 10, 2006 3:10 PM

that was a beautiful flashback scene with daniel and lily. I really love the song of choice as it was sung by one of my favorite artist - Alicia Keys. Thank you soooo much for using the song because it fitted so well with the story of daniel and lily and how she is feeling right now. They are my favorite couple on the show and i want them to get back together, they still love each other. Thank you young and restless for never failing to amaze us fans. The best soap on tv.

Posted by: y&r fan at August 10, 2006 6:12 PM

my favorite couple is Daniel & Lily and I would be upset to see them apart for good. I listened to the mystery of love song by nick kelly and i think it is a great song.

Posted by: michelle at August 10, 2006 8:50 PM

Great song choice for my favorite couple. Today
8-11-06 was touching when they hug at the end. Let them two get back together and be happy because no one else is. I just love Daniel & Lily both are just the best, and they both are so gorgeous, & 2 very goodlooking people. Boy and when they tear up at the same time instantly is simply amazing. Please stop letting Dru & Neil hate on him all the time....

Posted by: Tonya at August 11, 2006 10:26 PM

Lilly and Daniel should be together. They should accually have a baby in secret(the hug on Friday led to one thing to another).Lilly should relize that Daniel cares alot and forgive him.your show is great its just that Lilly and Daniel slitting made lots of people mad and sad including me I am both mad and sad

Posted by: Kimberly at August 12, 2006 1:42 PM

That day the featured Alicia Keys song was on Y&R, I really enjoyed it. Alicia Keys is one of my favorite artist. You all should have had her on the show singing at the coffee house. Please keep it up with the up to date music. Please keep Daniel and Lilly together.

Posted by: Aprill at August 12, 2006 2:50 PM

I hope that you are not going too take John off the show, because it will mess up the show. I hate it when you change the players alot. SO PLEASE DON'T TAKE JOHN OFF!!!!!!

Posted by: Deborah Thurman at August 12, 2006 8:17 PM

At the end of the August 29 episode, a song was playing in the background when Nick and Phyllis said goodnight and she walked out. I would like to know the name of the song and the artist, if known.

Posted by: Karen C. at August 14, 2006 5:22 AM

What is the name of the song that was playing when daniel sees lily at the hideout? The lyrics were something about having a secret.

Posted by: kat at August 14, 2006 7:05 AM

What is the name of this song: "I keep asking myself so many questions and the answers never come. Tried to shut it out but I never listen and the silence makes me numb. Somebody told me you had secrets..." This song is good and I have to know who sings it. Thanks.

Posted by: Candace at August 14, 2006 11:08 AM

I love the show with Alicia Keys (If I ain't got you)When is Malcolm coming back? Please do not break up Nick and Sharon! Phyllis should be in jail for killing her friend in the fire she started in New York at the fertility LAB! Oh well, guess we were suppose to forget about that. I have been watching Y&R since it started! I LOVED seeing Mrs. Bell's red poodle as I have raised/ bred Red Poodles since 1976!

Posted by: K Richmond at August 14, 2006 4:37 PM

There is a song that played in the scene where Daniel is sitting in the coffee house.
He is watching this couple and he starts to think about Lily.
The song goes:
Watch my life pass me by in the rearview mirror.
pictures frozen in time are becoming clearer.
I dont want to waste another day stuck in the shadow of my mistakes.
Cause I want you and I feel you running underneath my skin....
I MUST KNOW NAME AND SINGER OF THIS SONG!!!!

Posted by: Rosa at August 14, 2006 10:24 PM

Hey! When is Thad going to play the guitar again? I am so mesmorized by his talent that God has so clearly given him. I could listen to him all day... Also, we see alot of us in your characters these days! Keep up the excellent work which I know you will do. I believe God is really BLessing your show more than ever!!! Hi everyone !!! We love you, our 2nd Family Love Donna & Debbie

I too adored the alicia keys song that was played for my favorite couple - lily and daniel. I also agreed with the person that said that she should have been there in person to sing it. It would have made my day. Also daniel and lily have such a huge fan base and we don't want to see their realtionship end up like mac and billy i.e broken up etc, etc. Please let lily forgive daniel because they are the only refreshing couple on the show that i can stand to watch and they are sooo in love. Thanking u in advance. I really am loving all the music montages and songs that have been played on y&r lately. great job guys

IS NICK MARRIED TO PHILLIS IN REAL LIFE.

Posted by: SARAH at August 18, 2006 2:16 AM

The Nick Kelly song, The Mystery of Love, from the August 8th episode was just wonderful. Where has this guy been? I understand he is an Irish singer. I downloaded this song right away. It was really touching because sometimes love just happens, whether it's right or not. Ah, chemistry..........

Posted by: Linda H at August 18, 2006 11:48 AM

Would like to know name of song used at John,s bedside. If memory serves I believe it was also sung for a dance for Nick and Phylis. I know lyrics just can,t put a name to it.
Hope for an answer. Thank You

Hello...i love Y&R, especially their monatages that they make. I only wish, they could make a nice one about John before he died, especially with memories of all his kids and with him and katherine and jill. It's a pity...but o well...life must go on.

Posted by: Shelly at August 19, 2006 3:28 PM

It takes alot to make me cry during a soap ,but this week was on e of the few times I did . John's death story line was wonderfull acting nad story line. I could not wait to watch it every day to see what was going to happen. I was wondering if he might recover nad stay on show. as you can tell I never read who is coming or going .in the soap mag. so I was not sure how it was going to end. great job keep up good work .

Farewell to Jerry Douglas....He is an amazing actor! He will be truly missed, as well as his character, John Abbott. I cried and cried, and the helpless look on Jack's face....I will NEVER forget!! Think of the storylines that will open now; the Abbotts against the Fishers, etc. etc.
(Billy better stay to protect his legacy!)

It was a suprise To see Jerry Douglas Pass away.
I cried and it was very emotional. I hate to see him go. We love you Dad, You've been an inspiration to all of us who have Fathers. Thanks.

Posted by: Rhonda Baker at August 21, 2006 11:48 AM

I was sad to see John Abbott die on the show. Now, I'm worried that you might write Victor Newman out, too! Please don't do that! This show needs the mature actors to keep things solid and constant. I wish actually that katherine chancellor would have more show time. she's there, but not as much lately. And talking about victor again, he needs to recover so he can set jack straight again! jack's sneakiness makes me sick.

Posted by: harvgirl at August 23, 2006 4:13 PM

Just wanted to give HUGE props to Peter Bergman. When Jack was in the hospital room with his father Peter broke my heart. Never has a television show actually made me cry but I have to say the week leading up to John's death was some of the most amazing work I've ever seen. Well done Peter. You are phenomenal!

Posted by: Sharon at August 24, 2006 6:45 AM

I was very upset to see John Abbott die. I was hoping he would recover, and remain on the show.
Why did he leave the show?
Thank you !

Posted by: Mona at August 25, 2006 3:36 PM

It was so sad to see the Abbott Family grieving over their Father, John. He is surely going to be missed by many fans of Y&R. Next week should be an interesting one with John Abbott's Will being the focus of the battle between the Abbott's and the Fisher's.
I hope Nick and Sharon get back together. After all is said and done - those two need to fall in love again.
I hope Nikki and Victor stay together forever. They are my most favorite couple.
As to the writers on the Y&R - Keep up the great work - It is no wonder Y&R is number 1 in the ratings !!

I have watched Y & R since day one (intermittently) when time permitted. My heart broke when John (Jerry) died. He brought so much to the show, his character was always the man, father, friend that many of us wish we had in our lives. Jerry, you will be missed! Also, what was the name of the song that played, it was so perfect. p.s. NICK get your butt back to your cheating wife!

Does anyone know the song title and/or artist of the tune that was playing on yesterday's episode (August 28th) when Daniel was in the coffeehouse remembering back on times with Lily?

Posted by: Michelle at August 29, 2006 12:46 PM

For those interested in information on the song that was playing in the opening prologue of the show (in the background at the coffeehouse) on the August 29 episode of TY&TR...

It is called "Riptide", by Robert Reilly, and it is available on I-Tunes.

Greetings!:

I too am a "Daily" enthusiast, and join you others in wishing that they might reconcile, which they seem _WELL_ on their way to doing now, _THANK_ _GOODNESS_!

As to why Mr. Luckinbill has not sung in quite some time, I wonder, hoping this conjecture will not seem to be in poor or questionable taste, if this is because the new Miss Carlton, Miss Adrianne Leon, is also a talented singer and songwriter from what I gather (I have heard just a little of her work with her band from an Internet clip or two), and thus, since Miss Fonseca did not sing, I wonder if it is being felt inappropriate to have Mr. Luckinbill upstage Miss Leon by singing when she cannot for character-reality sake (unless they somehow can make Miss Carlton find hidden singing ability).

I am surprised that there has been no discussion of the big Carlton storyline in the threads I have read thus far from this month, but maybe I would find such were I to dip into last month's posts. Let me just say here that I was indeed fascinated with this, and, though I hope they do not change her very much by bringing in this new actress, I am currently pleased that Mrs. Kaplan (or Caplan?) will be allowed to remain on the Programme! I trust I join at least a few others in wondering what was so valuable in that reliquary to cause those thugs to go to such extremes to obtain it.

I am currently ambivalent about the younger Newmans as to whether or not they should reconcile, though I am not exactly thrilled with the couple that produced this upcoming baby (though someone in another thread in this blog speculated that that baby might be Mr. Abbott's after all). Full reconciliation would obviously help Master Noah, but how solid is that couple _REALLY_ despite their longevity? Do not those two largely live for sex?

Hoping this finds all of you well,

J. V.

I hate that John Abbott died. The show will not be the same. I related his death to my life. It seems like a dear friend or family has just died. I guess I'll get over it. What is wrong with Victor? I had rather see him taken off the show than to be in the state he is. Let him go back to being the "old mustache." I do enjoy the show and I have been watching it for 25 years.

Posted by: B.J. at August 31, 2006 12:31 PM

I have been watching Y&R since day 1, and am very disappointed with the way the court case was handled over Johns will. Such a shame not more was made of this to show Jack can't always get away with that spoiled adult brat syndrome. Gloria was after all Johns wife. Such a shame your judical system would write her off that quickly. Where's all the evidence, ie tapes, drs., etc to help prove on her behalf. a good show could of been made on this topic.....

Posted by: samiam at September 1, 2006 4:36 PM

i watch the show every now and then and i'm not sure when exactly it was but late august sharon and Nick had a momment and kissed and there was a song playing that i LOVED. i really want to know what it was called. i don;t remember what all the lyrics were but some or them were " cause it's you and me and all of the people" and " can;t keep my eyes off of you" pleasse tell me what the song was called and who sung it, i know it was a guy

Posted by: emma at September 4, 2006 10:02 PM

Despite the fact that Jack gave Gloria what she deserved after Gloria gave Jack what he deserved, the question of her being his wife still has not been answered. No one had done the sleuthing to prove that the will is no good. These people give up without a fight. Michael has to be a better lawyer than to let Jack get away with that. Since the will was dated April 21, when did Abbott give the will to the chaplain? It obviously had to be after Jack showed up to con his father. Now, where was the will kept between April 21, the purported date of the will and when Abbott actually gave it to the chaplain. If they do this bit of digging, they will easily come up with the desparity.
Then there is the problem of the constant searching done in jails. If any thorough searches were doen between April 21 and the date Abbott gave the will to the chaplain, and no will was recorded as being found, then there is sufficient reason to believe the will did not exist. Did abbott's cell mates notice him walking around with a paper. Etc. Etc. Two, there is such a thing as Common Law Marriage. If Abbott and Gloria had, during their marriage gone to a state where Common Law was legal and registered as Mr. And Mrs in a hotel, which they certianly would have, they would have been legally married in that state. The full faith and credit provision of the constitution would mandate that Wisconsin recognize that Common Law Marriage and this would entitle Gloria to a slice of the estate, including part of that home, which would mean that Gloria and Kevin and even Michael and Lauren could move in, or even better, Gloria could sell her share to some mafioso who could move in with his gangsters. Wouldn't Jack have a lot of fun with some mafioso who would punch him out if he touched his booze.

I am truly enjoying the romance between Jack and Sharon. Jack has never been this hot. The man is gorgeous. lucky you Sharon! Getting to taste the man every day.
Nick and Phyliss are nausiating. I can't stand to watch their part. I usually get up and do other stuff when they are on. When is Noah going to start causing trouble for the couple. I really like to see phyliss bugged by a little kid.
Nicky is un believable. What has gone wrong with her? Is she on sedatives? She used to be a real mother in law to Sharon and was on her case for many different things!! Why is she so passive with Phyliss; it is very out of character for Nicky's personality. She is not the person we've come to know throughout the years. With Phyliss Nicky is not Nicky. Some mother in law action should be going on.
As much as I love Jack and fantasize of myself being the woman for that gorgeous man!!! I still need to see him caught for manipulating Jhon's will.

I love the show so much and have been waching since I was a teenager(I'm 36 now). Did not understand why John Abbott had to go, I do not see a show without John Abbbott or great Victor Newman. I hope you will not take away Victor Newman, Katrien Cancelor or Jill Abbot, Ashley Abbott or Jack Abbott from the show with out them there will not be a Y&R.
