Luke's acting debut, which will air Wednesday, August 30, was a huge success! Maybe it will be the start of a whole new career for this talented athlete...

Luke Walton played a little one-on-one with Kristoff St. John.

Luke posed for a few shots with Kristoff and Y&R producer Kathy Foster.

I'm really getting tired of all the basketball court scenes, sorry! Just like I got tired of the "poolside cafe" scenes last summer. Why haven't we seen the Chancellor living room set in nearly a YEAR?!? C'mon! ;-(

Cool! Hey,so how tall is Kristoff?
Posted by: CC at July 30, 2006 2:32 PM
I agree 100% with Lisa J. Too much is like too little!!
Also, is`nt Millie Perkins a bit young to have been a teenager during the war (it ended in 1945!!) I know this is a soap but Y&R is usually more realistic....
Sorry for the criticism but consider it constructive. I still love you all....

Does anyone know if Luke Walton is Bill Walton's son? Personally, I like the basketball scenes...if you know what I mean... : )

the guy is a cutie, but I don't watch Y&R to see basketball, if I wanted to see basketball, I'd watch the sports channel.
Another thing I'm tired of seeing is this sappy Victor and his "visions" and all the rest of it that goes along with his so-called epilepsy.
I expect to see him drooling in a cup any day now!
Could we please have a cow kick him in the head while he's in Kansas, and bring him back to his senses, I'm tired of FFing through all his scenes!
Victor is my favorite character, and you all have ruined him with this summers *message*!
I want to see him and Jack plotting and scheming against each other again.
From everything I've read on other boards, I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Loving that nick and phyliss are together, just hope that sharon being in danger doesn't bring her and nick back together again.
If Nick and Phyl stay together, I wonder where they will live, will nick have another house built on the ranch so he can be close to Noah?

I'm really tired of the basketball scenes and please bring Victor back to normal! The show needs the REAL VICTOR NEWMAN. Get rid of Sharon.

As for the basketball court scenes in general,I
don't mind them, it just sounds like these Luke
Walton/Neil scenes are going to be pointless. I am
curious though why we've yet to see J.T. have a
scene on this set since Thad Luckinbill plays for a
celebrity basketball team and is quite good. It
makes much more sense for J.T. to be shooting
hoops instead of Victor & Jack or Michael.
Posted by: B.J. at August 1, 2006 10:08 PM
I hope the scene of sharon missing doesn't bring sharon and nick back together. They have become a boring couple and I really like seeing nick and phyllis back together. Please don't put nick and sharon back together.

Will the celebrity stunt casting EVER end?? What is the point of it? I don't get it.
Plus, these people can't be coming cheap. And if they are, I still don't wanna see it. I'd rather see Jill get three sentences of dialog than the latest "it" person. ;-(
Posted by: LisaJ at August 2, 2006 8:15 AM
When are we going to see Thad (J.T.) shirtless on the basketball court like we saw Nick? If seeing Thad shirtless is not possible, having him wear a tank top is good enough for me! lol
God bless you and him always!!!

Please stop spending the budget on stuntcasting and start spending it to keep veterans on contract. Not renewing Jerry Douglas's contract is one of the worst moves this show has ever made. "Killing off" John Abbott is a slap in the face to long time, devoted fans and an insult to an actor who has given us 24 years of entertainment. We all deserve better- most of all Jerry. "John Abbott" has remained a steadfast, strong, loving man and the only truly decent, moral character on this show able to keep core characters "in line" when no one else could. Once he's gone, there will be no one to hold others to a moral standard in GC. This sucks the big one folks and it's not going be a change for the better. Killing off John Abbott will feel like losing William Bell all over again. Shame on you writers and TPTB!

I love Y&R but why are you letting Jerry Douglas go?.. HUGE mistake imo. I absolutely love Nick and Phyllis, am so ecstatic the baby is Nicks. Nick and Phyllis have become some kind of phenomenon. But I dont like how Nick treats Phyllis sometimes - he puts her second. They love each other so much and he should treat her better. Comeon Y&R, you can do better than this. Keep Jerry Douglas, and let Nick appreciate his Phyllis a little more :)

If you guys are really planning on killing off John, than PLEASE have him actually DIE! Don't have him running around Genoa City as a ghost counseling his family on how they should be running their lives.
There was a time on Y&R when dead meant dead. But that all changed last year when Cassie died then she started showing up at Crimson Lights for one last smoothie. It's lame and stupid and definitely "takes away" from the character's final scenes as a living person. Why should a viewer get all emotionally vested in a character's departure if that character is going to be showing up as a ghost, vision, apparition, etc.? Please--don't turn Y&R into PASSIONS! ;-(

I have been a fan of Y&R for over 15 years. I love the show. I tape the show and watch it over and over, but I have found myself fast-fowarding the Victor/Hope parts. These are very boring and I cannot bear to watch anymore. I really love the show, so that is why I am posting.
Posted by: CC at August 4, 2006 2:50 PM
I cant stand Nick and Phyllis. She is awful.
Posted by: YandR fan at August 6, 2006 10:46 PM
I like when you, "Inside Y&R", mention the Y&R actors' birthdays but you forgot Kristoff St. John's one on July 14.
The next is Christian Le Blanc's. Please, don't forget him!

There is something fishy about the Phyllis/Nick/Jack paternity thing. i think Jack
is the real father, thats why Nick went out of town for a few days and came back and lied that the baby is his because he wants Phyllis for himself.Because Jack almost took the test but walk out and was about to take it again.Nick never showed anyone the DNA results he just said he was the father.I think its Jacks baby.

I love the show, but have to agree that the Victor story is a big bore. Let the guy have epilepsy without all these changes!
Posted by: Tracey! at August 7, 2006 12:35 PM
I agree about Nick and Phyllis story I love them as a couple. Nick and Sharon have been up and down so many times it is getting pathetic.

Yes Luke Walton is Bill Walton's son. I have been a fan of his since he played for the University of Arizona. The good thing about having celebs like luke on the show is it brings more people to the show. I do not watch Y&R, but I will watch it 08/30 and if I like it then I will keep watching. I found out about this site because I googled Luke Walton and soap opera because I heard that he was going to be on a soap. Thanks Y&R!

I agree with alot that I have read - Victor story is getting old!!! My husband has epilepsy and acts nothing like Victor. Love Nick and Phyllis let get back to thier story since we found out Brads' seceret.

This is great! I can't believe I never knew about this site until now. I love Y&R! I hate that John will be leaving.... he is the most stable thing / man going on in GC. Hate what's going on with Victor. He is actually why I started watching the show in the first place and now you have made him a veggie. Nick and Sharon.... shoot me now! Drew is getting something just what she needs, but I still feel sorry for her. Daniel and Lilly make me sick, but I think Daniel deserves better.
Posted by: Felicia at August 15, 2006 7:35 PM
can't stand the Phyllis character... she is vacuous & a woman of nihility... kill her now! can't stand nick & sharon... i am so pathetic for watching... my life has sunk so low...

I actually wish that the problems between Nick and Sharon never began. I loved when they were happy together. I have not come on to check for updates and I was amazed that it was John that would be the one to die off!!! I thought if anyone it would of been either Victor or Sharon. I can not believe John is gone because they did not renew his contract!! That is awful. I thought maybe it was his decision and that he wanted to retire or something. John reminded me sooo much of my Grandpa look's wise. My Grandpa went because of Emphysema though. It was heart breaking seeing John have the strokes. I kept thinking at any given time when someone held his hand that he would wake up and say "Gotcha" but no. I need to keep up on updates. Where is the best place to get updates and gossip on what is happening?
Posted by: scultra at August 19, 2006 3:57 PM
Did Jerry Douglas really want to retire? or was he forced to? OR
was it because of the money his contract was not renewed?
Can you give me an aswer to this?
I have watched the show for over 20 yrs and have watched some terrible long drawn out storylines, but hung in there hoping for better days. Killing off John Abbott was the worst move you could make. I guess Kay will be next ! GET RID OF THAT BILLY, GOD IT IS TERRIBLE A ZOMBIE! I'm sure Bell is turning over in his grave seeing the way the show is going.
Posted by: Stella Magic at August 23, 2006 7:24 AM
What about Jill and Will Bardwell? Can we get back to that story? I agree with the others about Victor, I want he moustache back. Maybe now that John has passed, he'll be a true nemesis to Jack. And speaking of Jack, I'm really sick of the Jack/Ashely versus Gloria scenes. Enough already, we get it - they don't like her. But if Jack wants Jabot back, he's going to need Gloria on his side. Now that would be an interesting partnership.
Another storyline that would interesting is to have Daniel's real father show up. And I'd love to see more of Michael's lineage. That has lots of possibility for conflict and surprise.

I totally agree with everyone about John Douglas. Getting rid of him was a big mistake. I guess they have their reasons, but I don't see any good from it. As for Nick and Phyllis, I hate them together. Every time I see the two of them I hit the fast forward button on my VCR. How can Nick leave behind 10 years of marriage, and have the nerves to say he don't love Sharon anymore. As for the Neil/Dru/Carman thing, come on. Dru needs to wake up. There is no way the old Dru would let Carman get away with what she is getting away with. If I was Dru, I will be all in their faces instead of sneaking around. She is letting the two of them get closer and closer. I know it's just a story line, but how strong Dru's character is, it's not believable that she would be acting like that. As for the new Victor, I like it. Yes, I do want the old Victor back, but I can see where this is heading to. It all leading up to a big Victor come back. Once he is back, all hell is going to break out. I can't wait. All in all, I enjoy watching the show. As for it's sister show, The Bold and the Beautiful, that is a totally different story. I know this is a chat room for The Young and the Restless, but The Bold and the Beautiful needs help. All I have to say on that subject is thank goodness for the fast forward button. It turns a thirty minute show into to 15 minutes.

I have watched the Y& R for over 20years, I just hate that gloria she came from nothing now a snob get rid of her with her son keven give them nothing from John's will . As for Dru she need a good boot on the booty smarten her up as for all the rest love them all they have given me lots of joy over the years ,felt sad when bill bell died , regards John Abbot "dying" time to really let him go thanks for great stuff , only thing is you make the story lines too long take a leaf out of corination Street my show I come from Scotland , the lines dont last any longer than 3 to 4 weeks then on to new things thats why millions watch it in uk & Canada take care all keep well regards mary mc nabb
