Today is Victoria Rowell’s birthday, but the Insider doubts that the always-busy Victoria will take much time to celebrate. May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, so she’s out and about, helping others!

As a matter of fact, on May 1, Victoria was joined by movie star Samuel L. Jackson, actor/director LeVar Burton of PBS’s “Reading Rainbow,” and award-winning screenwriter Antwone Fisher (“Antwone Fisher,” “ATL”) in unveiling a national foster youth art exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles to kick off May as National Foster Care Awareness Month.

Presented by the Rowell Foster Children’s Positive Plan (RFCPP), The Passion Art Tour hopes to educate and illustrate to the public just how foster children can have a positive future if given the tools for success. Under the tutelage of renowned collagist Phoebe Beasley, foster youths in California and Boston created artwork to illustrate their hopes, dreams and above all else…their passion for life.

Anyone have any idea who was singing the song at the end of today's Mother's Day show. I would really like to hear it again, or maybe purchase.
Thanks

A belated Very Happy Birthday to Victoria Rowell.. and, love all of your sexy & kooky hats !

and, also, wanted to say the Y&R writers are making it a great year, so far, with all the different twists & turns of story-lines. And, having watched the Y&R from it's beginning, Phyllis was due to become pregnant. ( my dated prediction from January, below ) Yep, a little girl with brass & sassy red hair, who would grow up with her Mom's " fair flair ", would sure keep things interesting & happening in Genoa City for years & years ....and years ( Thanks Y&R writers ! )

Previously, my prediction Posted by: Marie at January 10, 2006 11:50 AM

I must say, I like the idea of " red " ( Phyllis ) becoming pregnant .... but, with everyone " thinking" it's Jack's baby ( girl ) But, since this is soap-land, it would give more interesting storyline if it would be Nick's. Hey, think about it, a brass & sassy, girl with red hair, who could grow up and fall in love with Noah.... Oops & Oh, brother, literally !... U'mm, guess we just did that with Mac & Billy as first cousins, though, huh ? ... it would create lots of interesting storyline for the next few years and perhaps add a little feuding fuel to the Newman ~ Abbott growing clan ..... and, " the beat goes on --- just hope that I haven't lost my drummer !

Victoria, Your character that you portray (Dru) is so full of life and spunky and you do it well. I have enjoyed seeing how she has grown since she came to GC. YOU have such a big heart and besides your involvement with the foster family program I could not help but be extremely touched how you and the other cast helped the victims of Katrina and made them happy for a little while. YOU guys are the best! Have a very Happy Birthday and I hope that you have a wonderful year! I am a fan from the Midwest.

Victoria, you are so cool! I love watching your performances. They are so effortless. You make it look all so easy, though I know you work your craft hard. keep up the excellent work!

BTW - to the Y&R staff, I am in marketing and I loved the product placement on your Mother's Day show. Yes, we all noticed the "Chico's" bag. Being that I work just down the street from the Chico's world headquarters, I had to mention it in this forum. It added to the realism of the show. I know you don't just give that away. I hope there is more like it, though not as much as Hollywood does in the movies. They push it too far.

Excellent shows lately. I now think Gloria should get hers. I have loved watching her, but now, she's gotten away with too much. Jack WILL find out!!!

Victoria Rowell is an amazing actress. She's so "SASSY" yet "CLASSY"!

And yeah...the product placement of CHICO'S was way too COOL! How about some STARBUCKS coffee at Crimson Lights, or NIKE products at the GCAC?
So real....way to go Y and R !!

Christine.

Hi! Dru
Happy late birthday.
I love Y&R and your family. For years I have been watching and listening (by radio), to my most favorite soap. I can't wait to see each days episodes. I record the soaps on my VCR each day, but listen to Y&R on the car radio at work. I loved the storylines with Devon and your families encouragement for him to be a better person. I try to teach that to my grandson and to encourage him to be somebody and to get an education.
His father, my son died when my grandson was 3 years old. He is 17 now and has a lot of problems he is dealing with. The (Winters family) shows a lot of love and My husband and I try to help my grandson with love and for him to make wise decisons. It's hard for him to understand right now.
I love you'll and keep up the good work with the foster care.
P.S
My friend Laura has had about 12 foster kids she has raised and still taking kids into her home.

Peace and God bless!

If you people don't bring Victor back to his old self I am going to stop watching. I have been watching for about 15 years but Victor is the one that keeps me looking. This "nice" Victor is no good as far as I am concerned.
thanks.

Sharon in my eyes is vindicated.
It is a big mess. I remember a time when I thought wouldnt it be a great twist if Nicholas and Phyllis had a baby. I even emailed you guys. And it sure is a twist but Phyllis is getting on my nerves. This was the crazy manipulative Phyllis, the poor me pregnant and alone line doesnt really suit her. She is lucky to have conceived at all by who ever! The Jack and Sharon thing would be a great idea. But they really have to fall in love and it has to be hair raising and romantic nothing like what she had with Brad. And Victor is as great as ever in his acting. This man is amazing. He can be "the" Victor the tycoon or he could be sweet and vaunrable. I love this man. Really, I love him and age don't matter! please dont get him too sick.
And Gloria! Gloria! Gloria! who are you? what are you? Maybe the devil incarnate. please resolve this story line. I beg you writers. she has to pay for what she has done; pure and simple.

Hi Victoria: You are great!! I hope your birthday was also. I watch the show everyday when I am home and try to find a television when I'm not home. I remember when you first appeared on the show. Girl, you have always been a fire cracker!! My granddaughter always says that you are so beautiful. She's only 5, but she says that she wants to be just like "Miss Dru" when she grows up. I love what you are doing for the youth. Stay strong and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Hat's off to the "Young and the Restless" cast.
