Memorial Day weekend was extra-special for Tracey Bregman, since she celebrated her birthday on May 29. “My best friend Sharyn and I are both May babies, so we take turns choosing a trip to celebrate both of our days,” Tracey told the Insider. “Last year, we went to New Orleans, right before the hurricane. This year, it was my year to choose and I chose Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was amazing. But I spent my actual birthday, Memorial Day, with my family, walking on the beach and having dinner at my favorite restaurant, Nobu.”

Judith Chapman was generous enough to share her personal Emmy photos with the Insider again this year. Judith had a great time catching up with friends and cast mates at the Emmy celebration!

Here I am with Christian LeBlanc, my fabulous TV son, at the SOAPnet pre-Emmy party. What a great party, and what a great night, catching up not only with Christian, but so many other actors I’ve worked with on so many different soap operas

Me and beautiful Adrianne and my friend Amanda, who is responsible for all of these fabulous photos. Who’s taking this picture, then?

The Insider just got a sneak peek at next Wednesday’s special episode of "Y&R," and we were very impressed! In the episode, Cassie appears to Nick in a dream and takes him on a "Christmas -Carol"-type journey to see how the lives of his friends and family could have been different if he had made a different decision on the fateful night of Cassie’s accident. Camryn Grimes and Joshua Morrow give amazing performances in this moving and emotional story, and we think you’ll be surprised at how the dream affects Nick. Plus, the episode features the debut of a beautiful, heart-wrenching ballad, "Aching Need," by singer/songwriter Austin Hanks. Be sure to tune in to "Y&R" on Wednesday, May 24!

(For more information about Austin Hanks, go to www.myspace.com/austinhanks).

Today is Victoria Rowell’s birthday, but the Insider doubts that the always-busy Victoria will take much time to celebrate. May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, so she’s out and about, helping others!

As a matter of fact, on May 1, Victoria was joined by movie star Samuel L. Jackson, actor/director LeVar Burton of PBS’s “Reading Rainbow,” and award-winning screenwriter Antwone Fisher (“Antwone Fisher,” “ATL”) in unveiling a national foster youth art exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles to kick off May as National Foster Care Awareness Month.

Presented by the Rowell Foster Children’s Positive Plan (RFCPP), The Passion Art Tour hopes to educate and illustrate to the public just how foster children can have a positive future if given the tools for success. Under the tutelage of renowned collagist Phoebe Beasley, foster youths in California and Boston created artwork to illustrate their hopes, dreams and above all else…their passion for life.

Thad Luckinbill’s birthday was Monday, April 24 and he and his friends celebrated with a ski trip to Mammoth, California. “We flew up there in my buddy’s plane,” he told the Insider. “We had a great time!”

The Insider is just glad that Thad made it back from this adventurous trip in one piece!

Emmy week is over and the Insider is still recuperating. We had a great time attending the show and walking down the red carpet with the “Y&R” stars. Everyone looked fabulous as they stepped out of their limos to a barrage of photographers and screaming fans. The red carpet was packed with stars from the world of daytime, who posed for photos and chatted with crews from Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, The Insider, SOAPnet and hundreds of other reporters from around the globe. Then the stars headed up a glamorous staircase, past a giant Emmy statue and into the Kodak Theatre.

The Insider had a special pass to get backstage. We got to see the winners come back to the press room immediately after being presented with their Emmys. Of course, we were most excited when the “Y&R” writing team arrived, Emmy statues in hand. It was fun congratulating Jack Smith, Kay Alden and the rest of the writing staff on their well deserved award!

By the end of the three-hour telecast, everyone was starving (except the Insider, who was noshing backstage) and we headed upstairs to the Grand Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland complex for a delicious dinner from Wolfgang Puck catering. The Insider spotted Tracey Bregman and her husband, mom and kids dining with Doug Davidson and his wife, while Don Diamont and his fiancée Cindy joined Amelia Heinle at another table. All in all, the “Y&R” gang stuck together, with cast, crew and actors gathering together to enjoy their meal.

Then it was on to the CBS Daytime Emmy party, which was held at the Annex at Hollywood & Highland - just a few hundred feet from the Grand Ballroom. At this classy but fun event, we mixed and mingled with the casts from all of the CBS shows. A DJ spun tunes as Kristoff St. John, Adrianne Leon, Michael Graziadei and Davetta Sherwood tore up the dance floor. Others chatted and “oohed” and “ahhed” over the “Y&R” writers’ Emmys. (Trust us on this one: Emmys are heavier than they look.)

Here’s to another great Emmy season! Can’t wait until next year!
