« “Y&R” Cast Members Salute 9-1-1 Dispatchers | Home | Happy Birthday to Melody Thomas Scott! »
Kate Linder, who is a newly elected Governor for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, attended as well. Kate even opened the show in a hilarious flight attendant spoof! She appeared on video in a “stewardess” uniform and gave the Emmy audience a “briefing” on what to expect. “Please secure your own oxygen mask before helping your agent, manager or publicist,” she said to a big laugh.
Michael Graziadei was psyched because he got to present three awards during the ceremony - especially since one of the awards went to “Y&R”! He was thrilled to announce that we won the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control for a Drama Series.
The exciting night continued as “Y&R” went on to win three more Creative Emmys, including Best Original Song: “Sunshine,” Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Series, and Outstanding Achievement in Make-up for a Series. (The Insider wasn’t counting, but that was more than any other daytime drama.)
Then Jeanne Cooper came on stage to close the show, and the crowd went wild. Jeanne was hilarious, joking that show - at nearly three hours - was too long. Jeanne was a big hit and closed the show in style. Of course, once the show was over, you all know where you could find the Insider: at the buffet! The event was catered by Wolfgang Puck, and featured three different stations: Mediterranean Flavors, Classic American and Asian Flavor, plus a delicious dessert table.
Here’s hoping that the “Y&R” winning streak continues Friday night during the Emmy telecast. Good luck to our remaining nominees!

Melody Thomas Scott looked lovely at the Creative Arts Emmys.

Academy Governor Kate Linder arrived in style.

Michael Graziadei with Emmy winners Kai Kim, John Bromberek and Dean Lamont (Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera Video Control for a Drama Series).

The "Y&R" music team: Jack Allocco, David Kurtz and Mike Dobson.

Congratulations to all the hard working creative and technical crew behind the scenes. You make the show look and sound so beautiful every day. It's good to see your talents being rewarded! You rarely get the limelight yet you are such a big part of why the show is number one! Great way to start Daytime Emmy season! Go Y & R! kshap.

Alight. That thing was rigged for sure!!! How does As The World Turns win out against the Young and the Restless???? Hello??? How unfair were those winners?? I was so dissapointed that Lauren or the younger actors/actresses didn't win. And how does GH win it every year?? I just don't get it! Oh well, I don't know if anyone watched over the weekend, but Sharon looked as hot as ever. Work it Girl! I taped it so I'd pause everytime they'd show the "Y&R" area. It was nice! Better luck next year for the awards we DIDN'T win! Congrats to this year's winners!

Hi there everyone! Yes, my husband and I were VERY disapointed about the Emmys! We decided not to watch them next year, unless Y and R gets more nominations. General Hospital!!???
I guess Y&R is in a class by itself....

we just think that J.T is so freakin hot and we think that David lago should be back on the show because he is so hot too.. and Thad and David are very good friends so it wills make sense for them to be on the show 2gether.never mind the fact that David is a very good actor in the roles that he plays.
<3 thad and David lovers

Recently Y & R stopped showing the Co Executive Producer's name in the credits. Who is the current Executive Producer??????

Kate Linder is such a beautiful, talented actress. I think she has been shortchanged on acting parts. Things did get some better when she went from just "maid" to sometime "companion" for Katherine, but nowhere near her potential in my opinion. I know she is not a wealthy, Chancellor, Abbott or Newman, but there have been a few that weren't, who were spotlighted,(such as J.T) and who turned out to be very good. The show needs some young people.
She has a daughter who has "been away" almost since birth, who could come back and be worked into the teen scene, she herself could have a love interest in Genoa City, any number of things, that I am sure your talented, imaginative writers could come up with. I don't think I am the only one who feels this way. Why not give her a chance. Thanks, An Esther fan

I have been a fan of Y&R since it first started. I have always thought that the acting is excellent and the writing fantastic. No one can beat it. I think it is one of the best shows on, and wouldn't ever quit watching this show. May it go on for ever!

please dont do anything to Victor, at least nothing permanent. There are few actors which are the anchor for the show. First Victor, second Jhon Abbot, third mrs. Chansellor and Jack.
I cant imagin the show without Victor and thanks to Gloria Jhon Abbot is in prisuon. Without victor Newman there is no Young and the restless, we might as well scrap the whole thing.
