The event was made even more special by the fact that Lauralee Bell presented the award. In his acceptance speech, Head Writer Jack Smith thanked Lauralee's dad, William J. Bell, who passed away last year. Then the writers headed back to the pressroom for photos and interviews, and the celebrating began!
Lauralee Bell, Sally Sussman Morina, Kay Alden, Jack Smith, Sara Bibel and Sharon Case celebrated Y&R's win at the Writer’s Guild Awards.

Congratulations, guys! You have received a much deserved award. Hope you hurry and finish this storyline with Nick and Phyllis. That one is a real downer. Nick and Sharon are the only couple on TV, day or night, that I look forward to seeing together. They look really real and genuine. Please keep Sheila off the show!

Ok, how in the world can Mr. Smith be dethroned when he and Kay Alden won an award for their work. I hope whoever decided to dethrone him is making the right decision(s).

ya are doing a well good job but I feel like friends shouldn't fight over the same guy and that is what is happening to Colleen and Lily even though they don't realize it. I think that Lily and Daniel needs to have a deeper and more adult relationship and leave Colleen out of this.

Congrats to Mr. Smith and everyone for this well deserved award. Hopefully this wonderful show will also win the directing, writing, and best show awards and the upcoming Emmys. In the meantime, this Writers Guild Award is very deserved and certainly a great send-off for Mr. Smith as he ends his career as Y&R's headwriter. Congratulations to all!

I hope they don't write John Abbot out of the show he's such a wonderful role model and character. Please Keep Sheila off the show she ruins the story line she's too vendictive.

I just want to say you all do wonderful with the show. I don't know why people are so upset about Nick and Phillis! They are hot together. Besides I'm sure there will be another chance for Nick and Sharon in the future for now this change is good. As for Sheila there is know such thing as to vandictive when it comes to a soap. I still say bring back David Tom as Billy!!!Please! Great job everyone I love this show!
