Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow pose for hundreds of photos together each year - and their characters have been together, on and off, for the past ten years! So how do they keep things fresh? These two actors know how to let loose and have fun - and they don’t take photo shoots too seriously. The Insider stopped by their most recent shoot for an upcoming cover of Soaps In Depth Magazine to find them kidding around between their serious and dramatic poses. After one especially sexy shot, happily married Joshua joked to the photographer, "Can I get an 8x10 of this for my house?"

Sunday, February 26 is Greg Rikaart’s birthday, but he was keeping pretty quiet about it. That is until his TV mom, Judith Chapman, announced it to everyone on set. “Today is my baby’s birthday!” she joked as Greg cracked up. “Today is the day I gave birth to him!” Luckily, “Y&R” newbie Adrianne Leon had baked brownies and Rice Krispie treats, which she brought in to share with the cast and crew. Word is that the goodies were delicious…here’s hoping Adrianne keeps on baking!

Jess Walton celebrated her birthday on February 18 with a special party with family and friends. “It was a wonderful birthday,” she told the Insider as we chatted on a break between scenes (on a lovely L.A. afternoon on the balcony outside the “Y&R” stages). Jess was particularly excited about one of the presents she received. “I got this fabulous gift,” she said “It’s one of the picture frames that’s like a little computer with memory - you can have 150 photos going on a slide show. It’s so cool. So we loaded it up with pictures of family and we set it on the dining room table.”

Sharon Case celebrated her birthday on February 9, and she could be found - where else - on the "Y&R" set. "I always end up working on my birthday," she laughed. But luckily, she had co-stars Kristoff St. John and Michelle Stafford to keep things fun." I think our characters are going to start hating each other real soon," Michelle joked to Sharon as the three posed for this fun photo.

Wednesday, February 8 was Joshua Morrow’s birthday, and the Insider caught up with him in his dressing room, as he was catching a quick break between some intense scenes with Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford. “On my birthday, my wife and I walked into town and had a nice dinner, then we spent the weekend at home,” he said. “Not really exciting, but for me it was perfect,” joked the always busy Joshua, who is the father of two young boys.

The set was buzzing at “Y&R” yesterday, as everyone was expressing their excitement about the fact that we received 18 Daytime Emmy nominations, more than any other daytime program! Cast and crew congratulated each other, and a cry of “woo-hoo” could be heard in the directors’ booth when the crew learned of all of the show’s technical nominations.

Greg Rikaart was working yesterday and the Insider congratulated him on his second Emmy nom in two years, but Greg was very modest, and said that he was honored to be selected. We got a big hug from cutie Michael Graziadei when we gave him his congrats – it’s his second nomination as well. “Graz,” as everyone calls him here at “Y&R,” was excited that all of the younger actors from his storyline (Christel Khalil, Camryn Grimes and Bryton) were nominated as well. And everyone was excited to see that Tracey E. Bregman received a nom for her great work.

Now the nominees just have to decide which tapes to submit to the Academy, and, of course, what to wear on the big night, April 28. The “Y&R” cast and crew will be out in full force at the Emmys this year!

Congratulations to the "Y&R" writing team on their well deserved Writers Guild Award. The award for Outstanding Television Writing in a Daytime Serial was presented Saturday in a star-studded ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium. Several of our talented writers attended, along with Sharon Case and Camryn Grimes, who were excited to cheer on their favorite scribes.

The event was made even more special by the fact that Lauralee Bell presented the award. In his acceptance speech, Head Writer Jack Smith thanked Lauralee's dad, William J. Bell, who passed away last year. Then the writers headed back to the pressroom for photos and interviews, and the celebrating began!

Several members of “Y&R” cast and crew turned out to support retired stage manager Don Jacob as he was presented with a special lifetime achievement award at the Director’s Guild of America Awards on Saturday. Peter Bergman, Christian LeBlanc, Jess Walton, Joshua Morrow, Kate Linder and Asia Smith arrived at the posh Century Plaza Hotel, where they rubbed elbows with the likes of George Clooney, Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg and many other Hollywood glitterati on this special night.

The Insider enjoyed the intimate awards dinner, which was hosted by the hilarious Carl Reiner. Carl kept the audience in stitches all night, as he poked fun at many of the celebrities in attendance, including himself!

Peter Bergman, who is always a class act, presented Don’s award in style. He stated that in his 25 years at "Y&R," Don worked on more than 6300 episodes! "That's 262 24-hour days of television programming with Don Jacob at the epicenter," he said. "In 25 years, Don Jacob won six Emmy Awards, one DGA Award, and the hearts, trust and friendship of seemingly everyone who worked with him at CBS Television City."

Congratulations to Don Jacob!
