This weekend, The Insider had a great time watching Kate Linder star in the final performance of a hilarious play, titled "Sex Is Good For You!" Kate portrayed Sheila Golden, a woman who's trying to coax her husband, Al (Patrick Finerty), back into the bedroom after a recent heart attack leaves him afraid to perform his "husbandly" duties. At one point, Sheila even tries to enlist Al's nurse, Debbie (Rachael Lyerla) to seduce him! Sheila's outrageous efforts to romance her husband are further complicated by the interference of Al's business partner, Mike (Steve Howard), as well as Al and Debbie's timid son, Craig (Josh Polizzi), who seems to have developed a crush on Debbie.

After the play, Kate graciously took the time to meet with fans and friends from the audience. She even signed autographs and posed for some photos with fans.

Hmmm... sounds like a plotline to me.

A man afraid to have sex.

There could be all kinds of reasons for that.

Like when some men go into the labour room when their wives give birth and then they're turned off sex afterwards.

Hello, Y&R!! I absolutely love you all. I am 38 years old and have been a fan since I was 12 or so. Now having said that,....WRITERS....Can you PLEASE STOP WITH THE "TERRIBLE TOM" storyline??? Come on!!! I read that out of Nikki, Bobby or Tom someone was leaving the show. And it was Bobby?!! You have got to be kidding. Well, as I said I do truly love the cast, writers and everyone that makes it possible for me to enjoy my favorite soap day after day. Thanks to all!!

At Least I for one can be grateful that this Play, unlike some, has Sex _WITHIN_ Marriage being good for one!!!

Though I have had no personal Dealings with her to Date, I can only repeat what I have written one or more previous Times, that Miss Linder seems to be a _SUPERB_ good-will Ambassador for our Programme, now applying her Ambassador's Touch to that Play as well!!! And, if she wishes, may this Ambassador soon visit this Country's Home of Ambassadors, our Nation's Capital!!!

I wonder how her Voice Lessons fared/are faring? Maybe her Character could sing to Mrs. C. as she offers up her healthy Foods!!! "Esther, that Song was beautiful, but _PLEASE_, do we need those Alfalfa Sprouts again?"

Insider:

How about giving us a "Professional Name" of the group of tenors who serrenaded "Nikki and Victor" last week: I'd like to get some of their recorded music if it exists..

I love reading all these blurbs on Y&R Insider. It is so interesting.

And although this has nothing to do with what is going on, I still have to reiterate, LYNDSY FONSECA NEEDS TO RETURN TO THE CANVAS AS MISS CARLTON. Bring her back. It would be so incredible to see the interaction of her with the Abbott's this Christmas. Kevin and her at the same dinner table...how funny this entire story could be! And I would love to see the look on JT's face when she returns. IMO, you could have her date Scott and drive JT nuts! It was be awesome to see JT squirm after her for awhile. Oh, there is so much potential in bringing her home. PLEASE BRING HER BACK, JACK. We want Lyndsy Fonseca!

I agree with MRSJ. Please bring Lyndsy Fonseca back. She is awesome!

Poster Mobil Smith, the Group you heard sing on the Programme last Week, as indeed has been mentioned in another Thread or more on this Board, was Il Divo. And MRSJ, it was good of you to urge Miss Fonseca's Return yet again! But, since Mr. Smith has _MOST_ generously given many of us a _GREAT_ Cause for Rejoicing by freeing Master Romalotti of those unfounded Charges, I am inclined to wonder, as much as I continue to wish Miss Fonseca back, if we might be pushing our "Luck" somewhat by this further Pressure.

Hopefully _MANY_ of us agree that the Scene between Mr. N. Newman and Master Romalotti on Yesterday's Episode was downright _SUPERB_!!! _JUST_ _MAYBE_, as the Moderns would put it, Mr. Newman now gets it, though his Pain will not go away! And to think, as he told us, that this "Epiphany" came in a Conversation with the one he initially blamed for the Tragedy and who, though he did not drive, regretably _DID_ set in Motion the final Events leading to it. And he also seems to believe Master Romalotti's Contrition! Though his Wife's Talk with Mr. Carlton could _POSSIBLY_ be sending up further "Red Flags," may that Couple _PLEASE_ continue to survive as such and to _DEEPEN_ as well!!!

I totally agree with MRSJ and Anna! Please bring Lyndsy Fonseca back as Colleen Carlton and reunite the Jolleen!

Where is Lili going? Is she leaving the show? Please don't do another J.T. and Colleen move. They were so in love and we loved them together. Now Lili is leaving Daniel and they are so in love. Can no one have happiness on this show? I've been watching for 15 years and I'm not about to stop, but for the love, could we please have a relationship workout the way it should, besides Victor and Nikki?

As I trust is well-known by now, Miss Khalil, Miss Lily Winters, left the Programme to pursue other Projects, though she told SoapCity that she regretted leaving her Storyline at the Point where it was. I too regret this, but Miss Khalil must be allowed to pursue her Big-Screen Dreams, etc., else we might not get her full Commitment if she is forced to remain. I further note Mr. Smith telling us that Miss Grimes will continue to appear for a While, in more Dream Sequences I am guessing. Unlike at Least one Poster on another Board, I personally do not object to these. Through them, may "Ambassador Cassie" work some last Magic, and may those who receive it give good Heed to what she is advising them!!! And again, as I wrote above, I _INDEED_ also wish for Miss Fonseca's Return, but feel that we should not be too greedy, seeing that many of us were given _GREAT_ Cause for Rejoicing by Master Romalotti being set _FREE_!!! From what Mr. Smith is telling SoapCity and us, we could be in for _QUITE_ an Autumn and Winter from Genoa City!!!

Y&R does need to bring Lyndsey Fonseca back,Colleen is a great character, and her on screen chemistry with Don Diamont is unmatched by any other father/daughter relationship on this show. Bring her back Y&R!!!!

Please tell me about Lili's skin care routine. Her skin is AMAZING!! So sad to see her go. She was one of the best younger actors. And so beatiful:)

Poster In Love with _Y&R_, unfortunately you would get some Arguments about Miss Khalil's Qualities as an Actress, but they would _NOT_ come from me!!!

Love the Sheila and Terrible Tom interaction; great idea to team these two up. Minor point, though: when Tom was talking the other day about drowning a sack of kittens, wouldn't it have made even more sense for him to have referenced wringing the neck of the family dog "Ginger" that Michael mentioned in a scene last year when he was at Kevin's hospital bedside after Kevin was beaten up? -- the Emmy-winning (for CLB), "Open your Eyes" scene? Doubtless Terrible Tom is capable of both things, and the drowning-kittens (gross!) reference was apt; I just thought it - the "Ginger" reference - would have been a good reminder of something we've already heard about Tom. But can't wait for more Tom-Sheila scenes!

In response to J.Vaughan...
I don't know why anyone would think Christel Khalil's acting was less than exceptional. I don't know too many youngsters who could laugh or cry the way she could during her scenes. I thought she was very natural and believable in portraying Lily's young and somewhat naive character.

Poster In Love with YandR, I _HEARTILY_ agree with your Analysis, and wish some others did as well!!!

Kate, they need to find a man on the young and restless, you need more excitement in your show there, you are a wonderful and funny and you can pull the punches with Jill.

Posted by: kaye at October 18, 2005 3:58 PM

I've been watching the show for years. I've enjoyed each and every one of them. I never did understand where Jill's other mother went. (Not Catherine), but the woman that was originally her mother ont he program. I have always enjoyed Y & R and will continue to watch it. I don't understand what Shelia is trying to do to Lauren and Michael. I think she is truly trying to drive Lauren crazy. The way the show twists and turns in this particular part keeps the suspense going. There are times when I get very confused with that particular part. Once again, though, I really do enjoy the show and wouldn't miss it. I work M-F, but I tape it everyday and get to catch up on the week-ends. Keep up the good work with the writing and the different story lines. Sheryl

i am so pleased with how Drucilla invited divon's mother to stay over.in our culture the support system is minimal and to see somebody reaching out is a great thing. drucilla drives me crazy but she has an amazing human side to her.

I've watched Y&R since I was a young teen and I am certainly not that now. I would love to see Paul and Kris realy get back together. To me they were just meant to be. Ashley is beautiful but she is not for Paul. What happened to Paul's medling mother? He is such a hunk but he will never be realy happy with anyone but Kris. He just couldn't be.
Sure hope Shiela get hers soon....
