« Mourning Mr. Bell | Home | From the Desk of John F. Smith: The Business Side of It »

May 6, 2005
Every morning in Hollywood, people walk into their offices to two publications, Daily Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, to pour over the day's industry news. And the stories that are covered are the topics that are discussed that day within the show business community. It's a time-honored tradition that important milestones are acknowledged through the purchase of advertisements within these trade publications.

Throughout the week, as word spread about Bill Bell's passing, people have been placing ads to honor his memory and great accomplishments within the industry. Ads were placed by Sony Pictures Television, The Museum of Television and Radio, The Museum of Broadcasting and Communication in Chicago, and a group of "Y&R" actors including Peter Bergman, Jeanne Cooper, Eileen Davidson, Don Diamont, Christian LeBlanc, Melody Thomas Scott, Michelle Stafford and Jess Walton.

In today's issue of Daily Variety dozens of ads were purchased by cast and crew from "Y&R" and "The Bold and the Beautiful," as well as many other industry insiders who wished to thank Mr. Bell for his overwhelming contributions to the world of daytime drama and television in general. If you're in the Los Angeles area, be sure to stop by a newsstand and pick up a copy of this very special issue.

I just wanted to say thank you to the cast and crew of Y&R for all their hard work for bringing the show to me (and everyone) each day.

Iv'e watched the show for 26 years, I feel like they are part of my family, I tape it every day even when I'm away on holidays. My husband has accepted that the Y&R will be a part of our lives.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Bill Bell, I just seen it tonight on SoapCity.com.

I love the new actress that is playing Mac , she is much more believeable than the other actress that played Mac.

Love the Show

Irene

I am writing to say that I love the show and have been a fan now since Cricket and Danny first started dating. I loved that storyline, they were great together. I still love watching Lauralee Bell even though we don't see as much of her anymore but I think that she is a great actress and brings so much to the show. Thanks again Y and R for such an amazing job each and everyday. Sincerely, Carol Dudeck of Calgary, Canada.

I really enjoy watching the Young and the Restless. I would really love to see Nick and Sharon to pull themselves together. The episode when Brad and Ashley were together in the house it brought a good feeling to me and I really want them to go back together especially for Abby's sake. I really want Lily to help Daniel but not for he to get herself into any trouble also I would like for the truth to come out about Cassie and Dnaiel. I would also like to see Mac give J.T a chance.

I just want to say, thanks to all you guys for the great storyline of foster children and foster care parents. I wish all foster parents were like Neil and Dru. I have been watching Y&R ever since Snapper (David Hassalholf) and the four sisters were on, and that has been a very, very, long time. My friends tell me to get a life. Little do they know that Y&R IS MY LIFE in so many ways. Keep up the good work.
